"The Vice Quadrant Part I and II"- A Review of Steam Powered Giraffe's Two Part Album!

Hello, fellow music lovers! My name is Evan Smith and today I am going to be doing a music review of Steam Powered Giraffe's The Vice Quadrant Part I and The Vice Quadrant Part II. As suggested by Anthony C.

My Thoughts

I think this is definitely an interesting album. The pitch of the lead singer's voice does not change much during all the songs. There is a story in the music (No spoilers!). And this album is pretty timid (in terms of instrument use compared to Alternative music). The most notable songs are, "Starburner", "Progress and Technology", "Burning in the Stratosphere", "Fire Fire", "Sky Sharks", "Daughter of Space", "Commander Cosmo", "Soliton", "Where I Left You", "Over the Moon", "The Speed of Light", "Starlight Star-Shine", "The Space Giant", "Oh No", and "Necrostar".

This album definitely lives up to its Traditional Folk style. This has a very original story and music alike. The word choice and music patterns are very relaxing and entertaining at the same time. I highly suggest not playing this album on shuffle.

The instruments use is very diverse through these two albums. One song is somewhat electric and then the next is calm and slower. I love it. This group also has a very good sense of humor in the story part of the songs too. This is truly an opera indeed.

Rating: 9/10

Please leave the album YOU want me to review next in the comment section below (If you don't have a Gmail account click the Gmail icon with an arrow and select another one like Anonymous or Outlook)! Thanks for reading, and until next time, listen on!
